Please note: You must be a registered
basic member on Cardea in order to purchase credits. Also, you will
need to have set a NetBanx password within the game. Type HELP CREDITS
within the game for more information.

Memberships
There are four levels of memberships in
Cardea. They are Basic, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Each comes with added
benefits, detailed below. Note that membership purchases are for one Calendar month, from the date of
purchase.
If you are not a
member, you may still play Cardea for free. However, there are limitations.
Non-members still
gain lessons at the slowest rate (approximately 1 lesson per every 2
hours online), and are also granted 1 hour of privileged
time per day. The drawbacks: non-members can only purchase credits
via cleared cheque; may not post to the bulletin board (but they are
free to read the BB); will not receive the monthly newsletter; may not
possess more than 50 credits in their account at any one time; are limited
to a lesson pool of maximum 50 lessons.
We strongly encourage
you to apply for a basic membership, as non-member status is effectively
a guest account. If you are planning on playing Cardea, you'd do best
with at least a basic membership.
| Basic Membership
Subscription to a basic membership is easy! Simply send your
request for membership to members@cardea-rpg.com,
and include your full name, postal address, Cardea character name,
and day time phone number.
Basic membership includes the approximately 1 lesson / 2 hours online lesson
gain rate and 1 hour of privileged time per day, but it also entitles
you to:
• Credit and membership upgrade
purchases online via NetBanx (i.e., the ability to pay via credit
card)*
• Full bulletin board priveleges
(the ability to post and read)
Basic members may not possess more than 75 credits at any time,
and the lesson pool maximum is 150 lessons.

Bronze Membership
Available to anyone registered as a basic member, and it includes
the ability to purchase credits via Netbanx*, subscription to
the monthly newsletter and access to the members-only site, full
BB access, and 1 hour privileged time per day. Bronze membership
also entitles you to:
• Enhanced
lesson gain rate (approximately 1 lesson per hour online)
• Subscription to our monthly
newsletter, and access to the members-only portion of the web
site
Bronze members may not possess more than 200 credits at any time,
and the lesson pool maximum is 200 lessons.
Bronze membership is £10 / month
via Netbanx or payment by post.
Silver Membership
Also available to anyone registered
as a basic member. Silver membership includes the ability to purchase
credits via Netbanx*, subscription to the monthly newsletter and
access to the members-only site, and full BB access. Silver membership
also entitles you to:
• Enhanced
lesson gain rate (approximately 1 lesson per hour online)
• 2 hours of privileged time
per day
Silver members
may not possess more than 300 credits at any time, and the lesson
pool maximum is 400 lessons.
Silver
membership is £15 / month via Netbanx or payment by post.
Gold Membership
Also available
to anyone registered as a basic member. Gold membership includes
the ability to purchase credits via Netbanx*, subscription to
the monthly newsletter and access to the member-only site, and
full BB access. Gold membership also entitles you to:

Enhanced lesson gain rate (approximately 1 lesson per hour online)
• 3 hours of privileged time
per day
• Member receives 1 page on
the members-only web site for their "character profile"
(content must be reviewed for approval)
• E-mail address at players.cardea-rpg.com
(e.g. dante@players.cardea-rpg.com)
Gold members are allowed to possess unlimited credits, and the
lesson pool maximum is 500 lessons.
Gold membership is £20 / month via Netbanx or payment by post.

Credits
"Credits" allow for a faster rate of lesson gain for characters that
purchase them. You can play Cardea without buying credits, as
stated above. Credited characters simply progress faster than non-credited
characters, due to the increased rate of lesson gain. One credit is
equal to one real life hour of playtime. You can SLEEPLEARN credits
to gain lessons whilst offline, or you can simply use them as you play.
Note that credits will decrease with time spent logged into Cardea,
unless you issue the CREDUSE command, to turn credit use on or off.
When creduse is off, lessons are gained at the slower, non-credited
rate. Please note that every character in Cardea is awarded 60 minutes
of privileged time per real life day (24 hours). During this period
when you are logged in, you gain lessons at the faster credited rate.

How can credits be purchased?
You can buy credits directly through Cardea by typing
in CREDBUY to your console. More information on credits can be found
by typing CHARGES.
CREDBUY enables you to borrow 5 hours worth of credits from Cardea
on a temporary basis. Consecutive uses will allow up to 20 hours worth
of credits to be borrowed. From the time of using CREDBUY, you have
a week to make payment in full by either using the purchase button above,
or by sending a cheque/postal order/money order made payable to "Alchera
Limited" to the following address:

If paying by cheque/postal order/money order, please remember to put
your character name on the back. Failure to make payment on time will
result in character suspension until thebalance is repayed.

PLEASE NOTE: You will be told within seconds of the acceptance of your
transaction, when you successfully submit your credit card details &
credits or membership order via the secure server. Cardea itself will
normally update your characters account within 1 minute of this acceptance
being given. In unusual situations (a crucial part of the Internet being
down for example), it may take up to 24 hours. Please be sure to correctly
type your characters name the same as you would to log into Cardea and
make a note of any authorisation code given to you, for your benefit
in the unlikely event of dispute.
NB: if you wish to cancel your bronze, silver, or gold membership at any time, you must give us at least six (6) business days notice prior to next billing cycle. Provide your Cardea persona name and your netbanx authorisation code for fastest service. Send an e-mail with all pertinent information and your cancellation request to tarkun@cardea-rpg.com or members@cardea-rpg.com.

Why was my credit purchase denied?
Why did NetBanx say "Unable to contact merchant to confirm purchase
details?
Some possible reasons that you may receive an "unable to confirm" message:
- Your character name was wrong
- You have not yet set your NETBANX password within Cardea
- Your character name did not match your NETBANX password
- You have not yet registered on Cardea
- You have not yet been approved for credit purchase on Cardea
- You are trying to buy a membership, but you already have a membership.
Please contact Tarkun if you
wish to upgrade.
- You are trying to buy more credits than your account type allows.
- You already have a large number of credits in your account.
If you receive an error "(716) Could not contact merchant to confirm payment information", re-check your persona name, and password. If they are both correct, please e-mail tarkun@cardea-rpg.com with the details of your purchase, and the error you're receiving.

Note: any attempt to procure credits through fraudulent means will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
