The History of Dragall

The first record of Dragall Ryuu's existence in the lands is on the 27th of Arlirith, 44 years after the founding and 20 years after Dragall's birth.Whence he came before that, whether born in this realm or another to queen or tavern wench, is unknown, for all historians really care about are the events that shaped history. Had Dragall remained a peasant, there would be no record of his existence and you would not be reading these words today.

For those few mortals who remember the day when Dragall first became a part of these realms, they recall a vision of the Holly Spire. In that vision, there was a man; standing slightly over six feet, he was tall by human standards and a veritable giant amongst Dark Elves, whose blood clearly ran through his veins. His face was a mask of innocence, as though childish features were chiselled into hard gray stone and adorned with polished onyx gemstones for eyes. Flowing silver hair cascaded around his shoulders and down to his chest.

In his first days in the realm, Dragall showed an immediate interest in magic. Inquiring at both the Alchemists and Mages Guilds, Dragall was first contacted by the Alchemists and admitted by the guild's patron, Lady Avenlora. As the only readily available Alchemist of the day, Dragall accumulated his first fortune selling mind enhancer potions to customers from all walks of life.

During these early days, Dragall's name was often recorded next to the name of one of the most powerful mortals of this age--Napolean Lextalionis. Indeed, some texts speak of a mysterious alliance between the two, but no details or evidence exists to support such a claim. However, it is known that the two, along with another legendary mortal, Peridot the Gray Wolf, rose to become three of the most famous mortals in the land.

At some time during his youth, Dragall had been a citizen of Arboria, but that time was short-lived: the path of history led him to the City of Shadows. The Alchemists Guild, which at one time had been located in Nineveh, relocated to the Free City of Maine. Enraged, Emperor Azrael sought vengeance against the Alchemists. Before too many of his guildfellows lost their lives, Dragall went to speak with Azrael and arrange a truce. In exchange for a ceasefire, Dragall would serve the Emperor. Soon, fueled by his own greed and the pervading evil of the city, Dragall began to walk upon a darker path...

Yet, at the same time, Dragall walked a path different from all others. He was one of the few mortals to seek the patronage of Wraith, God of Mischief, and to this day remains the oldest active member of the Dis-order. Dragall's actions have even caused him to be banished from his own city on a few occasions.

In the end, Dragall's lust for power has led him back to Nineveh and the heartwarming chill of the shadows. It brought him political power as the guildmaster of the Alchemists, when Old Uncle Vannevar retired. This lust for power, this ambition is the driving force behind Dragall, and to him, it is also the driving force behind all others. In Cardea, power is measured in four ways: Wealth, experience, skill and position. Dragall has all four, but still, he seems to desire more.

Who knows where Dragall's future might lead the Realm? Perhaps he seeks to study dark arts yet unearthed? Maybe he has secret ties to undiscovered foreign lands? Could his greed even lead him to believe that he might one day walk side-by-side with the divine?
