Bullying and Harrasment Policy

Cardea operates a policy against Bullying, cruel, sadistic and harrasing activities. This section details our current stance, and is subject to change as required.

Bullying & Combat

There can be little doubt that one of the most exciting, heartpounding experiences to be had in Cardea is that of personal combat. Such combat can set your adrenalin rushing as easily as many of the finest action games, and the one on one aspect of battle is truly intense.

Sometimes, in the middle of all this, its easy to forget that your opponent is another player as well. Just like you. When you win, someone else loses, and vice versa. With every victory comes elation and with each defeat comes a measure of despair.

Both of these circumstances can lead to repeated attacks, ambushes, challenges and battles between players, and when this becomes unwanted by one of the participants, it can easily descend into the realms of bullying.

As a guideline, you should only ever send an enemy to walk the halls once in a given period. Further, it is considered sportsmanlike to not attack again unless provoked, or further attacked yourself. This holds especially true if the battle proved little in the way of challenge.

When seeking an opponent for battle, you should always be sure to consult your Peers and LittleWho lists (Peers and LW commands) to decide which other players would make suitable challenges.

Repeated and regular slayings of any given player by any other player or group of players is not the way forward. Think before you wade in and make someones life a misery.

NB - The slaying of LittleWhos, without VERY good cause, will draw the attention of the Gods, who will punish regular transgressors. Such punishment is never retrospective, is not negotiable, and is based solely on a Gods or administrators observations, and never upon complaints made by players after the fact. Such complaints are often investigated when repeatedly reported.

Harrasment

The verbal harrasment of other players is not permitted, and 'spamming' (repeatedly acting to cause swathes of text to appear on anothers display) is particularly frowned upon.

Abusive language, OOC advertising of other games or products, sexual harrasment or public defamtion of Cardea are all forbidden activities.

NB - Refusal to interact with other players because you are 'OOC' is not encouraged in any way. This guideline does not apply to developers, who are often engaged in working on Cardea using the dynamic authoring tools.
